What are topics?
Describe a category in a short brief. ClipSonar maps winning topics, formats, hooks, and creators on Instagram and TikTok.
Creators answer: “What is this account doing?”
Collections answer: “What does this brief need from the clips I picked?”
Topics answer: “What is winning in this category right now?”
Drop a short brief (for example “clean beauty UGC on Reels and TikTok”). Pick Instagram, TikTok, or both. ClipSonar finds matching public clips and turns them into Topic Insights you can brief from.
What Topic Insights show
- Category DNA — how the topic shows up across platforms
- Topic and format mix — what themes and structures dominate
- Hooks, thumbnails, and cover text — patterns that earn the open
- Leading creators — who is winning the category
- Top clips — proof you can open in the Clips tab
When a topic is the right move
- You need category proof before a pitch or campaign
- You’re entering a new vertical and don’t know which accounts to analyze yet
- You want Instagram and TikTok patterns in one research set

How to start
- Open Topics in the sidebar.
- Click New.
- Write a brief and select platforms.
- Open Insights, then browse Clips for proof.
Already know the exact accounts or clip links? Use a creator or collection instead.
